Most Americans alive today grew up under the threat of nuclear holocaust. We grew up knowing about the horrors of fallout.

Regardless of whether the nuclear event is the result of aggression or simple stupidity, the result is that FALLOUT can kill you - the survivor - just as certainly as ground zero blast or immediate lethal radiation.

Do I Really Need a Thyroid Blocker?
If you're are caught in the fallout of a nuclear event and your thyroid is not “blocked” with good Iodine, your thyroid will absorb the radioactive Iodine.
Very small amounts of inhaled or ingested Radioactive Iodine can do serious damage because it will be absorbed and held by an unprotected thyroid gland.
Absorption of large amounts of radiation in the thyroid are likely to yield abnormalities such as nodules in the thyroid, loss of thyroid function, or thyroid cancer.
For radiation that is not immediately lethal - Potassium Iodate Anti-Radiation Pills (KIO3) will shield (or block) the Thyroid and prevent it from absorbing Radioactive Iodine during a nuclear emergency.
